Building an Ancient Roman Themed Park

This concept was dreamt and conceived on Nov 24, 2024 by SunSicilia srls. We plan to build an ancient Roman Odyssey theme park and invite stakeholders like Govt. bodies, shareholders, investors, friends and families, to participate in setting it up.

The Ancient Roman Themed Park is proposed to be set by SunSicilia srls in Mussomeli, Sicily. It will be a creative tourist attraction, themed with the grandeur and mystique of ancient Roman era.

The proposed theme park will be located in a pre-historic castle known as Castello Manfredonico. It was built in 1370, some 2 miles from Mussomeli town in Sicily Italy.

The theme park will combine technology, cinema and creative elements to create a fully immersive experience that seamlessly blends historical recreation with modern theme park attractions.

The city of Mussomeli welcomes new immigrants to purchase affordable properties in the area. Our theme park will support this initiative by enhancing tourism, creating employment opportunities, and attracting international residents to Mussomeli. This project will serve as an economic catalyst for local businesses, creating jobs, supporting local artisans, and restore much needed Sicily’s cultural heritage.

Concept and Design – Journey of a thousand tomorrows

Upon entering through the Roman castle gates of our theme park, the guests step into a colossal dome that sets the stage for their journey. They embark on a slow moving roller-coaster ride. The carriages are specially designed as ‘ancient sailing ships’ to enhance the effect. As the sailing ships move forward, the coaster track rises high above the castle’s surrounding walls and takes a long circular ride for a birds-eye view of the theme park and over the castle, showing the ancient Roman cityscape. The sail-ships descend inside the castle and stops at the ‘seashore’ where the guests can disembark to enjoy the theme park.

Guest Experience

The guests are free to walk around, enjoy and discover the whole theme park for as long as they like. The castle and cityscape is filled with Roman architecture, temples, chapels, and rustic markets, food and music. There is a dynamic digital dome that exhibits changing from day to night, and landscapes of mountains and sea. Real-life actors, goats, peacocks, rabbits, pigeons hop around the cobbled streets alongside Roman inhabitants, Arabian traders, and mythical characters, creating a living immersive experience of ancient Mediterranean life.

The theme park offers a unique experience where visitors can interact with Roman and Egyptian characters, participate in traditional activities, try variety of foods and explore the detailed environment. Authentic market stalls, themed merchandise, and street performers add depth to the setting.

The highlights of the theme park include:

– Interactive Street Life: Guests walk the streets in and around the castle , exploring Roman and Middle Eastern marketplaces, engaging with costumed actors, and experiencing live performances, exotic dancers and magicians.
